Participants create custom colors by getting a little messy and blending multiple chalk colors on paper. Each unique color creation gets a name and is added to a hanging color collection mural.

This story time is a celebration of ICECREAM! We’ll read Ice Cream Face by Heidi Woodward and experience all of the silly and serious emotions involved with anticipating and enjoying ice cream cones. After the story, we’ll create our own ice cream cone sculptures using playdough and other 3D art materials as well as craft colorful, mixed media paper collages.

Let’s turn “garbage” into art! Join us as we turn everyday materials into brand new puppets and companions of your creation. Critters, people, or mythical creatures– the only limit is your imagination! Participants can use storytelling and creative drama to bring their new friend to life.

Art stations might include color mixing with liquid watercolors, a larger than life vegetable-stamped mural, or a light & shadow screen play environment!
