We’ll read The Owl and Woodpecker (Brian Wildsmith) and explore the sounds and relationships between creatures in our environment. After the story, we will create a creature-full, colorful forest together inspired by Brian Wildsmith’s beautiful mixed-media illustrations. In addition, families will explore and play with a woodsy loose parts making experience.

Join your neighbors for a day of inspiring art as we organize around the essence of what makes Frogtown great: each other and our community! Hosted by 825 Arts and Frogtown Neighborhood Association, the Frogtown Arts Fest features local performers, arts vendors, arts work shops, and food.

Participants create custom colors by getting a little messy and blending multiple chalk colors on paper. Each unique color creation gets a name and is added to a hanging color collection mural.

This story time is a celebration of ICECREAM! We’ll read Ice Cream Face by Heidi Woodward and experience all of the silly and serious emotions involved with anticipating and enjoying ice cream cones. After the story, we’ll create our own ice cream cone sculptures using playdough and other 3D art materials as well as craft colorful, mixed media paper collages.
